Press Release: Positive outcome for Black Friday 2024
29 November 2024
Feedback reported to the Malta Chamber of SMEs on Black Friday results indicates mixed outcomes....
Il-GRTU wkoll enfazizzat li:
ï‚· jkun
hemm uzu ahjar tal-facilitajiet kollha li jeziztu fil-Port il-Kbir
ï‚· ma
jibqax jezizti l-istat li hemm l-lum fejn partijiet importanti tal-Port huma fi
stat ta’ abbandun,
ï‚· li jsir ippjanar sewwa li jizgura li x-xoghol isir
b’aktar efficjenza
ï‚· timbidel l-istruttura tat-tariffi u l-burokrazija zejda
li tezizti llum.
Il-GRTU tirraprezentha l-akbar numru ta’ kummercjanti li
jridu mill-portijiet taghna u fuq kollox tirraprezentha lill-Burdnara, li huma
intraprizi privati li jhaddmu maghhom hafna haddiema u li ghandhom kapital kbir
investit f-azjendi li jiddependu ghal kollox mill-Portijiet Maltin. Il-GRTU
tqies li l-Burdnar hu holqa importanti fix-xoghol tal-Port. Filwaqt li kulhadd
igerger mill-hlasijiet li jridu jsiru biex container jingarr minn u lejn
fabbriki jew mhazen mill-Portijiet, ftit huma dawk li jafu li anqas minn 13% ta’
dawn il-hlasijiet imorru ghand il-Burdnar. Fil-fatt hu l-Burdnar li jaghmel
l-aktar xoghol u ghandu l-akbar investiment ghaliex it-tragitt u l-garr ta
containers u cargo iehor isir bl-ingenji u n-nies tieghu. Min dawn ir-rati
l-Burdnar irid ikopri l-ispejjes kollha tieghu li dejjem jizdiedu specjalment
dawk ta’ pagi, diesel u taxxi. F’dawn l-ahhar 20 sena l-Burdnara qatt ma ziedu
t-tariffi taghhom filwaqt li zdiedu l-ispejjez u kulhadd fil-port gholla
t-tariffi tieghu. Dan gara, ghalhiex, kuntrarjament ghal dak li jghid min
suppost jaf ahjar, hemm konpetizzjoni qawwija bejn l-120 burdnar licenzjati u ma
jezizti l-ebda monopolju f’dan il-qasam.
Il-GRTU fakkret l-Ministru li
hemm numru ta’ commitments li l-gvern ghandu lejn il-Burdnara u li r-Riforma
trid tirrikonoxxi dawn l-commitments.
Il-GRTU fuq kollox appellat
lill-gvern li tinholoq politika wahda dwar l-portijiet li tkopri wkoll
l-Freeport ghaliex 80% tal-importazzjoni u esportazzjoni tghaddi mill-Freeport.
Issa li l-Kumpanija li tmexxi l-Freeport giet privatizzata, l-gvern ghandu
obbligu akbar minn qabel li jara li l-Port Hieles jaqdi sewwa l-obbligi tieghu
lejn l-importaturi, esportaturi u burdnara
Maltin.
